A physiotherapist is a healthcare professional who specializes in assessing, diagnosing, and treating physical problems to optimize movement and function. They conduct thorough assessments to understand an individual’s condition and develop personalized treatment plans. Physiotherapists utilize various techniques, such as exercise therapy, manual therapy, and electrotherapy, to help individuals improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. They prescribe exercises and provide education to promote self-management and prevent further injury. Physiotherapists play a vital role in rehabilitation after surgery or injury, helping individuals regain mobility and functional abilities. They also focus on pain management and provide guidance on lifestyle modifications and ergonomic principles. Additionally, physiotherapists emphasize preventive measures and health promotion to support individuals in maintaining optimal physical health. Working in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, physiotherapists provide comprehensive care to help individuals achieve their physical health goals.
