We provide comprehensive treatment sessions that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. These sessions encompass various interventions designed to promote healing, alleviate pain, and restore function. It all begins with a thorough assessment, where we review the patient’s medical history, discuss their symptoms, and conduct physical examinations to identify areas of concern.
Based on the assessment findings, we develop personalized exercise prescriptions that target specific weaknesses, improve flexibility, enhance joint stability, and promote overall functional improvement. These exercises are carefully explained, and we guide patients through proper technique and progression to ensure maximum benefit.
In addition to exercise, we employ manual therapy techniques to manipulate and mobilize joints, soft tissues, and muscles. Our hands-on approach helps relieve pain, improve joint mobility, and restore normal tissue function. We may utilize joint mobilizations, soft tissue massage, myofascial release, and stretching to address specific issues.
For patients who may benefit from it, we incorporate dry needling, a technique that involves the insertion of thin needles into trigger points in muscles. This helps release tension, reduce muscle tightness, and improve overall function. Safety and proper needle insertion techniques are paramount in this treatment modality.
Electrotherapy is another tool at our disposal, using devices such as ultrasound, TENS, and electrical muscle stimulation to aid in pain relief, reduce inflammation, and facilitate tissue healing. We carefully customize the parameters of the chosen modality based on each patient’s needs.
When necessary, we may utilize taping techniques, such as kinesiology taping, to provide support, stability, and pain relief to injured areas. Taping can improve joint alignment, promote proper movement patterns, and reduce excessive stress during activities.
Throughout the treatment session, effective communication is essential. We explain the purpose and benefits of each intervention, educate patients on self-management strategies, injury prevention, and offer guidance on ergonomic modifications.
It’s important to note that the specific interventions utilized during treatment sessions are tailored to the patient’s condition, goals, and individual needs. As physiotherapists, we stay up-to-date with current research and best practices to ensure that our treatments are evidence-based and provide the most effective outcomes for our patients.
